PostX Gnu/Linux development announcement: fixing the bug

During the PostX 0.4.2 a bug appeared. Originally, I wrote the text below from it:

“Important note. There seems to be a bug in Debian base(release building packages related). The bug appears when trying to start the installed system. The virtual terminal console number 2 gets stuck and only  a black screen is showing when the login should appear. To overcome this issue press some of the following key combinations to open an alternative terminal….”

The actual error message is something like this: “Type “ONE_LEVEL” has 1 levels, but <RALT> has 2 symbols“.

The cause of this bug is not the Debian base but the Kernel. There seems to be some sort of bug in the 4.9.18 version, which causes the issues to appear.  I have actually seen a variant of these issues before, which also manifested themselves via keyboard issues. I am now building  new kernels and as soon as I can confirm that the keyboard issues are out I will release a 0.4.3 version of PostX Gnu/Linux containing fixes and all the recent software upgrades.

New distribution planned and Git and Scrum coming soon

I am currently planning on making another distribution which will likely end up being Gentoo based.  Before things get started with the the distribution develepment I would like to annouce two upcoming features.

PostX Gnu/Linux will continue as Debian based. To make the development easier to follow,  I will be setting up Scrum with tickets. Scrum will give you an idea of the timetable and features, which will end up to the next version of PostX Gnu/Linux. Continue reading

Techtimejourney upgrade completed and PostX 0.4 building begins

I have just finalized the back-end and outlook upgrades of Techtimejourney. I hope you enjoy the new look and feel. Today, I am also beginning to build packages for PostX Gnu/Linux 0.4 version. It will land as 32-bit version and 64-bit. The next ten days it is all about compilation – so there might be silence. PostX 0.4 is expected to land during the 20th of November. I will of course release it earlier if I am able to finalize it before the target date.

Coming soon on Techtimejourney and an outline of PostX Gnu/Linux 0.4

My workflow with my significant coding projects, which will certainly end up to become part of PostX Gnu/Linux 0.4 is as follows:

Volcontrol(Universal volume control program for Pulseaudio): 8th of August.

Crosslinker FM v.5 (Adding: trashcan, “multiple files delete”, music player integration, notification integration): 10th of August.

After the above two are done I will turn my attention to RunIT browser. As the web browser will provide a nice challenge it will certainly take some time before I can code it to become exactly what I want. After all these three projects are done, I will do some art and theme designs and then start building the PostX 0.4 release beta.

Note. The new Crosslinker code is already done and Volcontrol code is almost done. You still have to wait a bit because I want to make absolutely sure that the quality is as good as I want it to be. After all, I want people to enjoy as bug free life as possible (because programming bugs are not cool).

What will be included in PostX 0.4 Continue reading
